The inn

A leaking roof, a good feeling, and fifteen years.

The Harrow House is run by the people who live in it. Here's how it came to be, and who you'll meet when you arrive.

How it started

Bought in 2011 with a leaking roof.

Nora and Peter bought the house in 2011 with a leaking roof and a good feeling. It had been a sea captain's home, then apartments, then empty for a decade — but it still had its bones, its light, and a view of the harbor that stopped them on the sidewalk.

They spent two years fixing it themselves, learning as they went, before the first guest ever checked in. Peter took over the kitchen because he couldn't help it; Nora learned every creak in every stair.

Fifteen years on, they still live on the third floor. That's the whole idea, really — an inn run by people who are home, who know which room gets the morning light and remember your name the second time you come.
